Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, aims to achieve 50 per cent broadband penetration by December 31, 2023.
The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof Umar Danbatta, disclosed this in a Sunday statement by the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka.
Danbatta unveiled this during a media chat with media editors and executives in Northern Nigeria.
He noted that the country achieved 47.01 per cent Broadband Penetration in July, aiming to achieve its 70 per cent target by 2025.
“While we acknowledge the challenges encountered by the industry, we have also witnessed explosive growth, improved regulatory standards, and digital innovations that have garnered global recognition,” he said.
