President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to resign as a lawmaker on the floor of the House of Representatives today, according to Channels Television.
Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House, was appointed as CoS by Tinubu on June 2.
Prior to his appointment, Gbajabiamila of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on February 25, won the Surulere I Federal Constituency election for the sixth time.
However, his recent appointment had raised concerns as to how he would manage both roles owing to the fact that the former Speaker was on Tuesday inaugurated alongside his colleagues for the 10th Assembly.
The lawmaker will on Wednesday (today) tender his resignation after which the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may conduct a fresh election to fill the role.
