Peradventure you ever find yourself in a meeting with North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un, be careful not to fall asleep.
Also, try not to talk back or disagree with him otherwise you will
end up being executed like North Korea’s defense chief, Hyon Yong-chol.
Hyon has reportedly been executed by firing squad for falling asleep
during a meeting and talking back to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
Mr Hyon was killed on 30 April by anti-aircraft fire in front of an audience of hundreds, the Yonhap news agency reports.
He was as close to Kim Jong-un as it is possible to get, yet he was
made to go through a public and brutal method of execution as
obliteration by anti-aircraft gun to emphasise the cost of disloyalty.
You see, the violent and sudden death of Hyon, who had been appointed
to defense chief less than a year ago, would not be the first since Kim
Jong-Un took power.
Kim, who has arranged several purges since assuming power in 2011,
has ordered the execution of at least 15 senior officials so far this
year, BBC reports.
Earlier this week, CNN reported that a senior North Korean official who defected claimed Kim Jong-Un ordered his aunt Kim Kyong Hui be poisoned.
The official claimed Kim wanted to silence his aunt, who was angry after the execution of her husband Jang Song Thaek, Kim’s presumed No. 2.
What a leader!
