Sen. Tanko Al-Makura (APC-Nasarawa South) has urged his constituents and other Nigerians to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Sen. Bola Tinubu in Saturday’s election.
Al-Makura also urged voters to vote for him and other APC flagbearers in the upcoming general elections in order to expand democracy.
He made the announcement on Thursday in Lafia, while speaking to reporters ahead of the elections.
The senator stated that Tinubu would build on President Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements thus far, emphasising the importance of Nigerians voting APC in the election.
“I feel Tinubu has paid his dues, he has developed Lagos and has mentored people who have become valuable to Nigeria; look at people occupying key position s in Nigeria, then you will know that Asiwaju had mentored competent people for national development.
“I am soliciting Nigerians that come Saturday let’s vote Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima to lead this country for the next four years to add value to the governance of this country.
“And to take this country to the community of developed nations by virtue of their past experiences and competencies to nationhood.
“Every living Nigerian knows that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the qualities and attributes to take over power as the president of Nigeria come Saturday election,” he said.
Al-Makura said that Tinubu has been a champion of democracy and Nigerians would benefit a lot from his government, if elected.
“He has been a legislator in the Red Chamber, he stood for democracy and he believes in the unity of Nigeria,” Al-Makura added.
The senator also urged the people of the senatorial district to vote Gov. Abdullahi Sule considering the governor’s developmental strides across the state.
Besides, Al-Makura assured of quality and effective representation at the National Assembly, if re-elected.
He also urged the people to vote peacefully during the Saturday poll.
The legislator further urged his constituents to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations. (NAN)
