Stop forcing ladies to wear head coverings – Kumuyi blows hot
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, has told ushers in his church to stop making the wearing of head coverings by ladies in his church a compulsion because too much wearing of such causes heat and odour.
Kumuyi made this known in a sermon shared on the Facebook page of his church, the Ekiti branch.
His words, “Somebody is coming to our church for the first time. And she happens to be a lady not covering her head. We ask the person to cover her head before coming in. We don’t know whether the person does not even know God. We confront her out there before she even enters the church. We don’t know if she does not know how to pray or prophesy. But we impose rules on her.
“If I were the person, I would wonder what kind of church is this? If they treat me like a primary school girl, that will be my last time coming to the church.”
The clergyman stated that because of persistent covering, there will be “heat in the hair and it will emit odour,”
He went on to lament that some women have stopped making themselves presentable to their husbands simply because they are now married.
Kumuyi said, “There are some women who are not attractive to their husbands. Some believe since they are married they are no longer obligated to look good before their husband. There are single sisters that are not presentable.
“If I don’t tell you maybe nobody will tell you. There are some wives who dress shabbily and are no longer attractive to the man. There are some single sisters that are not presentable. Anybody who is looking for the will of God may not be attracted to them.
The Bible says every woman that pray or prophesies. The reason why you are covering is either you are praying or prophesying.”

If I may reason with more objective, should a man or woman take off his or her clothes in order not to generate body heat or odour as well ?

How, but he also said bible said when they want to pray and prophecy, if you come to church you know you would have to pray and atimes nobody knows when the Holy Spirit want to use him or her for prophecy. That of the house is understandable but to church its not too right.
Besides, allowing women to open their heads down in church would surely be a side of distraction because you know what our women like to do, styles you then be seeing agro that would be touching the waste and the likes. Covert the head is still modest just like the Muslem would always encourage

You quoted out of context. To get a precise knowledge of what The Apostle teaches about women covering their heads, you have to read from verse 1 through 15. Verses 14 and 15 in particular says “Don’t you know that it’s a shameful thing for a man to keep long hair? But if a woman have long hair, it’s a glory unto her for her is given her as a covering”. In essence, it’s a dishonour to the husband of a woman who has her hair shaven.

No sir you are biblically wrong, because it is only a woman’s hair that is given her as covering for her head, not head covering, or clothe etc. see f 1 Cor 11:12 – 15.Women who use scalf,head tie, or clothe or handkerchief etc, do not cover head but their hair.
