Naira Marley Releases His Debut Album, “God’s Timing Is The Best.”
GOD’S TIMING IS THE BEST, NEW ALBUM Naira Marley, one of Nigeria’s top artists, walks the line between Afrobeats and hip-hop while dropping a plethora of hit tracks.
To commemorate Marlians’ Day, Naira Marley releases his highly awaited first album titled “God’s Timing’s The Best” (GTTB) today, May 30, 2022. This new endeavour is a sequel to his original mini-project, ‘Lord Of Lamba’ (LOL).
Naira Marley, whose artist name was inspired by Nigeria’s official currency (naira) and reggae legend Bob Marley, debuted in 2014 with the witty “Marry Juana.” During the build-up to the 2018 World Cup, his popular tune “Issa Goal” generated a viral dance craze and became the unofficial theme song of Nigeria’s national soccer team.
Although his controversial 2019 single “Am I A Yahoo Boy” drew the ire of the Nigerian government, the song propelled him to the top of Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart for the first time. His 2019 smash tune “Soapy,” an ode to self-pleasure inspired by his own temporary incarceration, spawned yet another viral dance movement.
In 2020, he was nominated for four Headies (Nigeria’s major music awards event), including Song of the Year for “Mafo,” his joint 2019 record with Young John.
Naira Marley finally chose to bless his home-based fans with a body of work dubbed “LOL” EP after his mega-breakthrough. According to Naira, ‘LOL’ refers to ‘Lord Of Lamba,’ and the EP has six pounding tracks.
God’s Timing’s The Best, his debut album, contains 14 tracks and includes Naira Marley’s previously released hit singles ‘Coming,’ ‘Kojosese,’ ‘First Time In America,’ and ‘O’dun.’
