Hire A Woman produced ChinneyLove is more like another version of her movie, Hire A Man, but in this case, we think Nancy Isime should have done better.
Well, the movie is for the young and young at at heart. Featuring Nancy Isime as Teni, Jide’s (played by Uzor Arukwe) best friend and co-worker, Uche Nwaefuna played Jide’s hot ex-girlfriend, Toyosi, who dumped him for the hottest guy in school after graduation.
Alexx Ekubo as Emeka, Mike Godson as Nate, Ifu Ennada as Jane, Nate’s fiancee.
While Erica Ngozi Nlewedin played Nifemi, the bubbly travel agent and Belinda Effah as Zainab, Teni and Jide’s best friend and co-worker.
The plot was about 6 university friends and clique who kept in touch after school and later fell in love with each other.
Jide is a nerdy; he is hardworking and successful, doesn’t know his way around women but still deeply have a thing for his ex, Toyosi – feeling he finds so irresistible.
Unfortunately for Jide, there was need for a reunion with his university friends and Teni in collaboration with Zainab planned an operation #Peperdemgang which would have been successful but for Jide’s uncontrollable soft spot for Toyosi.
The movie is quite a comic romantic movie to watch but truth be told, Teni over did her thing.
The hitting of Jide on the shoulder on the dinning table was totally uncalled for, a stamp on his foot would have done justice at that particular scene.
The drunk scene, last fight was totally over exaggerated.
In addition, despite the fact that we love the gradual turn out of event, the movie dragged more than expected. Unnecessary scenes, prolonged conversations.
However, the movie ended with new found love, friendship restored and hopefully a happily ever after union. Hire A Man shot at the beautiful Whispering Palms resort wouldn’t bore you to watch.
