One Chinenye Ndubuife has been remanded in jail over the murder of a two-year-old boy identified as Wisdom Promise.
Punch reports that the suspect was arraigned before a Magistrates court sitting in Ebare Meta, for allegedly killing Wisdom.
According to the report, the suspect is said to have hit the child on the head with a stone.
The suspect reportedly committed the crime at no. 70 Lawani Street, Olowu-Apopa, Lagos at about 1pm on December 12, 2018.
The police have said that Chinenye’s offense contravenes Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The charge reads in part, “That you Chinenye Ndubuife, on December 12, 2018, around 1pm at No. 70 Lawani Street, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did kill one Wisdom Promise, aged two years, by hitting him with a stone on his head, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
Presiding magistrate, A. O. Komofe, has reportedly adjourned the matter until January 30, 2019, while awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In the mean time, the suspect has been remanded in jail.
