Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, April 5th reserved the judgment of convicted controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye otherwise known as Bobrisky till April 9, 2024.
The judge also ordered that he should be returned to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC’s custody pending the judgment.
It is no longer news that the crossdresser was arrested by EFCC on Wednesday, April 3rd at Pinnock Estate, in Lagos State.
Confirming his arrest, a spokesperson for the commission identified as Dele Oyewale exclusively revealed to Linda Ikeji Blog, the cause of his arrest. He claimed that the crossdresser was arrested for currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira and would be charged in court soon.
The commission had even released his mugshot, with a post shedding more light on his arrest and how his presence at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere, Ajanaku led to his arrest.
The crossdresser was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos, hours ago, on a six-count charge bordering on alleged Abuse of Naira and alleged Money laundering. Idris pleaded guilty to the first four counts bordering on Naira abuse. Before the charge was read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, however, asked the court to strike out counts five and six bothering on Money laundering allegations. Justice Abimbola Awogboro subsequently struck out counts five and six.
Bobrisky was then arraigned on only counts one to four charges, which he pleaded guilty to and pleaded with the judge to give him a second chance, making a promise to use his platform to inform and educate his followers about spraying money.
He begged the judge to tamper justice with Mercy as he claimed he wasn’t aware of the law on abusing Naira.
