“The way you win is different” Jigan, Mo Bimpe react as Sanwo Olu honours Funke Akindele years after arresting her

Nollywood Box office queen Funke Akindele Bello has been listed among the top Nollywood stars honored by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu to mark 2022 International Women’s Day.

Kemi Filani earlier reports that Nollywood stars such as Adunni Ade, Adebimpe Oyebade and Toyin Abraham, Mo Abudu, Nse Npe Etim were honoured by Governor Sanwo Olu. At the same time, actress Ruth Kadiri was ignored again.

Funke Akindele, grateful for the recognition, took to her Instagram to appreciate the state governor for the honour.

Reacting to this development, Nollywood stars took to Funke Akindele’s timeline to shower her with compliments on her new achievement.

Celebrities like Destiny Etiko, Olatayo Amokade Ijebu, Mo Bimpe, Brodashaggi, Kemi Korede, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mustapha Sholagbade, Abimbola Kazeem Jigan joined the millions of Funke Akindele’s fans to celebrate the recognition.

A fan of Funke identified as hmpromakeup claimed he loves how the actress emerges as a winner despite all odds. “The way you win is different.”

Kemi Filani recalls that Funke Akindele was arrested by the state government two years ago for defiling Covid-19 protocols by hosting a birthday party for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello.

The Lagos state police arrested Funke Akindele after an online outcry by netizens who knocked the actress for defying the government orders on Covid-19.
