Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike popularly known by his stage name, Phyno has caused a stir online with his shocking revelation about the music industry.
The Enugu-born singer, in a recent interview, opened up on his struggling days in the industry and how he was advised to join a cult to boost his career. For him, he has never loved easy things, hence, when his friends told him to join a cult or sacrifice something or something for the price of fame, he rejected it.
He believed in himself and the power of hard work, which has paid off for him.
The singer admonished up-and-coming artists on the need to avoid taking shortcuts to success.
“Some people look at us today and think we got it easy, Not at all.
“I’ve never loved easy things. Before many people heard of Phyno, I’d had songs that no one knew existed.
A couple of friends told me to blow, I must join a cult or sacrifice something or someone, I told them the price was too much. I’ll never do such.
I believed in myself and the power of hard work, I started little and today I thank God”.

A few weeks back, the rapper had caused a stir online as he splashed billions of naira on 20 units of a detached Terrace building.
The news was made known by Real Estate Mogul, Ned Okonkwo, on his official Instagram page, as he congratulated him on his new property.
He expressed gratitude to the hitmaker for pulling the deal through as he noted how it’s Landlord season.
The new property according to many is said to be worth N1.4 billion.
