The untimely death of the late promising Nigerian singer, Mohbad has become an eye-opener to many of the ills in the music industry.
As many try to figure out what led to the singer’s untimely death, a petition with the Nigerian police against Naira Marley’s aide, Sam Larry has surfaced online.
The singer had filed a petition in June 2023 after he was harassed and assaulted on the set of a video shoot with Zlatan Ibile.
Sharing a screenshot of the petition, Samklef lamented over how Nigerian police failed him.
“The police in Nigeria is a failed system! Late Mohbad, in June, filed a petition to the Nigerian Police Force seeking protection for his life and properties. Pls tag all the police handles the evil Nigeria must come to an end”.
Earlier on, a video of Mohbad being harassed by Sam Larry had surfaced online.
In the video, Mohbad was shooting a music video with Zlatan in a wheelchair when Sam Larry stormed the location carrying a matchet and other weapons.
Following the viral video, many stormed his Instagram page, demanding an explanation for the brutality.
This led Larry to at first, restrict his comment section, then later deactivate his page.
Mohbad was signed to Naira Marley’s” Marlian Records” and left the label in 2022.
In an Instagram live session, after his release from NDLEA’s camp, Mohbad had alleged that Naira Marley and other members of the group were after his life.
He expressed his belief that Naira Marley and Marlian music would play a role in his demise, as he told his fans to hold the label boss accountable for his death.
The singer and rapper had also posted clips of an alleged assault he suffered at the hands of Naira Marley’s Crew after he requested to change his manager.
However, Naira Marley, responded to his accusation, by saying that he was lying as he spilled teas about him.
Countering him, Mohbad expressed hope that justice would be served someday.
Even his friend and colleague, Bella Shmurda confirmed in an interview that Naira Marley was threatening his life.
