Desmond Elliot cries out as Lagos youths continue to drag him
Kemi Filani reported that Desmond Elliot had expressed his sadness about the amount of hatred he received from youths regarding the comment he made in October 2020 during the End Sars protest.
Desmond Elliot who appeared on TVC’s morning show ‘Your View’ spoke out about the hate he receives from the youths daily. Recall that the politician in 2020, during the nationwide End SARS protest spoke against the youths and also pushed for a bill to regulate and control speech on social media at the Lagos State house of assembly.
Looking away from the bill Desmond Elliot pushed for, the youths are specifically angry he called them ‘children’. His statement since 2020 has cost him a lot as he constantly receives backlash on matters arising. Once things go wrong and make their way to social media, youths simply write ‘Na Desmont Elliot cause am’.
During the interview, Desmond Elliot apologized to the youths while noting that he made his speech out of emotions. He also said the hatred he has received thus far was too much and advised that everyone spread love.
This came after Lagos youths in Surulere vowed to come en masse to vote out Desmond Elliot, during the state elections from his political post as a lawmaker.
