Former bandmates, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, and Augustine Obiabo Amehdu, aka BlackFace, reunited at the Mount Saint Gabriel’s College, Old Boys Association meeting over the weekend in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
Recall that the former members of the defunct Patanshun Boys have been subjects to controversies in the mediasphere over the years with BlackFace constantly accusing 2Face of stealing his songs including the monster hit “African Queen”.
But on Saturday, the stars put aside their beef to thrill fellow old students of their alma mater, Mount Saint Gabriel’s College, to the delight of their old schoolmates.
This is not the first time the rivals will reunite. Some years ago, the Benue-born stars reunited at the Agatu Peace Concert in Abuja with 2Face making a donation of N500,000 on half of himself and his ‘brother’ Blackface.
During the service and songs of the late twin sister of their former bandmate, Faze, late last year, the duo also reunited with Faze to perform their old school classics.
However, their reunifications often turn out to be fruitless as they always open another series of beef after every purported reunification.
Meanwhile, Mr Emmanuel Adukwu has defeated other candidates to emerged as the President of the Mount Saint Gabriel’s College Old Boys Association.
Adukwu in the process made history as the first person from Benue South to led the prestigious association.
BlackFace and 2Face graduated from MSG before proceeding to the School of Management Studies in Enugu where they met Faze and founded the group, Patanshun Boiz. The band became defunct after 2Face with sole allegedly stealing their group song “African Queen” claimed to have been written by BlackFaze.
