Officials blamed his death on pulmonary edema, a condition caused by too much fluid in the lungs, as well as heart and respiratory failure.
Jennifer Allen, the actor’s publicist, confirmed to CBS News that Liotta died in his sleep.
“Based on the post-mortem signs, death could have occurred approximately 8-10 hours earlier at the time the body was removed and the autopsy was performed on May 26, 2022, at 03:22 p.m.,” Dominican officials said.
