The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) has announced the listing of two new futures contracts with an expiration date of 16 June 2023 for the NGX30 and NGX PENSION indices.

Godstime Iwenekhai, Head of the Listings and Regulations Department at NGX Regulation Limited, signed the statement, which read in part:
“Trading License Holders and investing public are hereby notified of the listing of NGX30 INDEX and NGX PENSION INDEX Futures Contracts (expiring 16 June 2023) on Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) today, 12 December 2022.”

The NGX Pension Index contract (NGXPENSIONM3 and ISIN code NGNGXPEINM37) was listed at a price of N1,782 per unit, according to the Exchange, while the NGX30 Index contract (NGX30M3 and ISIN code NGNGX20INM36) was listed at a price of N1,836.25 per unit.
In case you missed it, the NGX started the trading week off strong with a market capitalization increase of N10 billion.
The performance of all stocks is tracked by the NGX All-Share Index, which increased by 0.04% to 48,899.08 basis points and built on gains from the previous week. A total of 236.59 million shares worth N2.52 billion were traded by investors in 3,337 transactions, a 134.66% increase from the 100.82 million shares worth N1.14 billion that were traded in 2,440 transactions on Friday.
Learn Africa Plc (9.70%), Jaiz Bank Plc (9.20%), SCOA Nigeria Plc (8.86%), Sunu Assurance Plc (7.14%), and J.A. Paul Gold & Ventures Plc (3.70%) were the top five gainers of the day. AXA Mansard Insurance Plc (-4.52%), Sterling Bank Plc (-3.60%), Neimeth Pharmaceuticals Plc (-8.57%), Royal Exchange Plc (-9.88%), and Courtville Business Solutions Plc (-2.17%) were the decliners.
By volume, Access Holdings Plc was the most actively traded stock, with traders exchanging 120.98 million shares in 172 transactions. Jaiz Bank Plc was next, with 19.04 million shares traded in 52 transactions. Access Holdings also topped the charts in terms of value, transacting N1.03 billion worth of shares in 172 deals.
