Bell is a former member of the Los Angeles Straitjacket Society. Despite not being cast in her Saturday Night Live audition, she went on to work as a writer for the show during its 35th season in 2009. She appeared in a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode that year as an assistant who dresses provocatively for work.
She started starring in the Comedy Central sitcom Workaholics in 2011 as Jillian Belk. After noticing her in it, filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson granted her a small part in his films The Master (2012) and Inherent Vice (2014).
In Eastbound and Down’s fourth and last season, she played Dixie in a recurring role. She costarred with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the 2014 film 22 Jump Street. In She costarred in The Night Before and Goosebumps in 2015.
