Harry Rodger Webb, later known as Sir Cliff Richard, was born in Lucknow, India, on October 14, 1940. Rodger Oscar Webb and Dorothy Marie Dazely raised him. His father was a caterer and contractor for Indian Railways. Following the violence on Direct Action Day, his family moved permanently to England. Before transferring to Chestnut Secondary Modern School, Richard attended Kings Road Junior Mixed Infant School.
