He fought then-rising contender Joe Calzaghe in his final two years of boxing to reclaim the WBO super-middleweight title; the winning Calzaghe subsequently said it was the hardest fight of his career.[4] Carl Thompson, the WBO junior heavyweight champion, was Eubank’s opponent in his last two fights, and they were both vicious contests. Eubank was stopped for the first and only time in his career during the rematch.
Eubank is considered to have a “granite” chin because of his courage in the ring, where he was able to withstand significant blows from strong punchers both winning and losing.(5) Chris Eubank Jr., his son, is also a professional boxer.

Career
In New York, Eubank started training at the Jerome Boxing Club on Westchester Avenue, just like his older brothers, Peter and Simon Eubank, who were twins back in England. Eubank became obsessed with boxing training and began going to the gym daily while making ends meet by working as a caretaker. At the age of eighteen, he advanced to the semifinals of Madison Square Garden’s main Golden Gloves tournament in addition to winning the Spanish Golden Gloves Tournament in 1984.
In his autobiography, he claims that the abuse he experienced from his older brothers served as a major catalyst for his desire to fit in and being accepted as a person, which in turn gave him the motivation to excel in boxing.
Shortly after turning 19, he played in his first professional match against Tim Brown at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino. His next ten fights were mostly forgotten, until in February 1989, he briefly gained notoriety when he defeated Anthony Logan of Jamaica in a match that was the undercard of a Nigel Benn main event. Logan had nearly defeated Benn, a rising star at the time. Eubank, now convinced he could defeat Benn, set his eyes on the Englishman and made Brighton his adoptive home.
