Baba Suwe’s biography
His real name is Babatunde Omidina, and he was born on the 22nd of August 1958 in Inabere Street in Lagos Island, where he had his childhood. There are no details of who his parents or siblings were.
Baba Suwe hails from Ikorodu local government area of Lagos State, and there are reports he has a house there.
The Lagos born comedic actor is a Nigerian by birth and had celebrated his 63rd birthday in August before his death in November.
Education
Baba Suwe finished from the Jamaitul Islamial Primary School in Lagos, after which the was sent to Children Boarding School, Osogbo, Osun state capital. He had his SSCE from Ifeoluwa Grammar School in Osogbo.
Career
Baba Suwe happens to be one of the actors who started acting in the early 1970s; he was said to have begun his career in 1971 but made it to the lime light after he appeared in the movie Omolasan, which was produced by Obalende.
Babatunde Omidina gained more prominence after acting a role in Iru Esin, produced by Ebun Oloyede, aka Olaiya Igwe.

Controversy
Baba Suwe was in the news in 2011 after the reports went viral that he was arrested by the Nigeria Drug and Law Enforcements Agencies (NDLEA) for alleged drug trafficking.
The Yoruba comic actor was indicted of trafficking cocaine by the NDLEA, but the Lagos High Court described the BBC allegation as false and defamatory.
However, since then his career took a new turn and he was rarely seen in movies.

Baba Suwe was married to Yoruba actress Omoladun Omidina, she, however, passed away in 2009. The Ikorodu based actor had children, and one of them who is popular is Adesola Omidina.
