Dinesh D’Souza’s Biography
His full name is Dinesh Joseph D’Souza; he was born on the 25th of April 1961 at Bombay, now known as Mumbai in India, to Allan and Margaret D’Souza.
He is from a well to do family in India as his father was an executive with Johnson and Johnson while his mother was a housewife.
He had his childhood in India and had the opportunity to leave the country via a foreign exchange program. Dinesh is an Indian American and turned the age of 60 in 2021.
Education
The political commentator was a student of Jesuit St Stanislaus High School in Mumbai, India, where he graduated in 1976; he was in Sydenham College to complete his 11th and 12th years.
However, his moment to leave India for the US came in 1978, when he gained a scholarship under the Rotary Youth Exchange to attend the local public school in Patagonia, Arizona. After that, he gained admission to Dartmouth College, where he graduated in 1983 with a degree in English.
Career
Upon graduation, he started his career as an editor of a monthly journal called The Prospect, which a group of alumni financed from Princeton University. His moment in the US political class came when he became a policy advisor in the administration of President Ronald Reagan. In 1984, he wrote his first book, Falwell, Before the Millennium: A Critical Biography. He has written different books since then. Some of them include; Liberal Education, End of Racism, Life after death, among others.
Apart from being a writer, Dinesh is also a filmmaker and has a number of documentaries to his name. The most popular is his documentary film: Obama’s America, which was based on his book The Roots of Obama Rage, released in 2010. He made a lot of money from the documentary sales as it was the highest-grossing documentary of all time earning $33 million.
