Woman remanded in prison after hitting 2-yr-old boy with stone

One Chinenye Ndubuife has been remanded in jail over the murder of a two-year-old boy identified as Wisdom Promise.

Punch reports that the suspect was arraigned before a Magistrates court sitting in Ebare Meta, for allegedly killing Wisdom.

According to the report, the suspect is said to have hit the child on the head with a stone.

The suspect reportedly committed the crime at no. 70 Lawani Street, Olowu-Apopa, Lagos at about 1pm on December 12, 2018.

The police have said that Chinenye’s offense contravenes Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

The charge reads in part, “That you Chinenye Ndubuife, on December 12, 2018, around 1pm at No. 70 Lawani Street, Olodi-Apapa, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did kill one Wisdom Promise, aged two years, by hitting him with a stone on his head, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 222 and punishable under Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

Presiding magistrate, A. O. Komofe, has reportedly adjourned the matter until January 30, 2019, while awaiting advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

In the mean time, the suspect has been remanded in jail.

Man robs, kills, secretly buries his benefactor and neighbor in Niger State

A 31-year-old man, Adelowo Adedayo, was yesterday arrested for allegedly killing and burying another man, Abdullahi Liman, in a shallow grave in Niger State.

The incident occurred at APC Quarters in Suleja, on January 16, 2019. According to reports, the deceased had once helped Adedayo with the sum of N80,000 when he was about to be kicked out over house rent.

The suspect was apprehended by a team of policemen attached to the B Division, Suleja. based on information received from family of the deceased.

It was learnt that the suspect murdered the victim in cold blood, buried him in a shallow grave behind his house and made away with his belongings which included a set of chairs, Plasma television, mattress, three pairs of shoes and two travel bags containing clothes.
