It is no longer news that the All Progressives Congress APC has affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari as its candidate for the 2019 presidential elections.
The Returning Officer in the presidential primaries, Dr Kayode Fayemi said Buhari polled 14, 842, 072 million votes.
According to him, “that gives you a pointer to what we are going to have in the 2019 elections. This is the registered votes of the registered members of our party. We are not talking about other Nigerians who will vite for the president in the general elections”, he said.
Fayemi said the name of the president would now be forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC as the candidate of the party.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has now emerged the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the 2019 presidential election following Sunday's election.
He came top ahead of 11 other aspirants at the end of the party’s presidential nomination convention. He polled about 1,500 more than the combined votes of all the other aspirants.
He was followed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal who polled 693 votes and Senate President Bukola Saraki who polled 317 votes.
The voided votes are 68

So the All Progressives Congress (APC) had their national convention yesterday at the Eagle Square, Abuja on Saturday 6, October 2018.
In attendance were party members who were past, present and aspiring government officials.
