World best player and Argentina international Lionel Messi on Wednesday June 30 saw his contract end with Barcelona for the first time since he signed to the Spanish club.
In the last few hours, Messi has become a free agent and there are now growing speculations that he could be moving to another club this summer.
Recall that the Argentine star has been linked with moves to EPL side Man City as well as French club, Paris Saint Germain PSG, both of which would be more than willing to sign him.
The report from Spain had revealed that Joan Laporta is working hard to convince Messi to renew his contract and had wanted him to do so before his most recent one expired, but it didn’t work out.
While this doesn’t mean Messi is leaving Camp Nou as the club management believes he would put pen to paper on a new deal soon, the reality is that as of now, the Argentine star is not a Barcelona player.
Hopefully, a new deal could come up in the coming days; however, it has an opportunity for other clubs interested in signing the top-rated striker to convince him and make a move for him.
There is no hidden fact that the departure of Messi would be devastating not just for Barcelona but the Spanish League.
We would watch to see how it all goes in the coming days.
