Bruno Fernandes has reacted to Manchester United supporters yelling that the players are unfit to wear the shirt.
United was thrashed 4-0 by Brighton on Saturday evening, putting them mathematically out of contention for next season’s Champions League.
The Red Devils have been underwhelming all season, and fan frustration has reached a boiling point.
‘You’re not fit to wear the shirt,’ resonated from the AMEX Stadium away end when Leandro Trossard scored four minutes later, and Fernandes was questioned about it at full-time.
When asked if he thought the evaluation was fair, the Portugal international told Sky Sports: “I include myself on that. What we did today, what I did today, was not enough to be in the Manchester United shirt and I accept that.”
