Asisat Oshoala, a forward for the Super Falcons, is expected to be fit and active for her team’s upcoming match against Botswana at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco, according to head coach Randy Waldrum.
KemiFilani reports that in Monday night’s 2-1 loss to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Oshoala sustained an injury.
Eight minutes before the end, Francisca Ordega took the place of the Barcelona Femeni striker.
Waldrum expressed certainty that the talismanic star wouldn’t be inactive for long.
The American gaffer told reporters, “I think she will be fine, the doctors will check her and I am hopeful for a positive update.”
On Thursday, the Super Falcons will play Botswana.
Botswana beat fellow debutants Burundi 4-2 on Monday night to take the group lead on goal differential.
