WAFCON 2022: South Africa claim shock victory over Super Falcons in Group C opener

Nigeria suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to South Africa in the ongoing Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.

It was the opening fixture in Group C.

Two quick second-half goals from Seoposenwe in the 61st minute and Magaia 63rd minute were all Banyana Banyana needed to pull down the stronghold of Nigerian girls on Monday.

It was an unbelievable moment for Nigerians who were in the tournament with high hope and determination, All their efforts were fruitless in front of their teeming fans.

South Africa forcefully came into the match, especially in the second half and they capitalised on Nigeria’s silly mistakes to make a difference in the keenly contested match.

At the 92nd minute of the Ajibade reduced tally for Nigeria to end the match in South Africa’s favour.
