Victor Anichebe names his top three African stars ever in Premier League, snubs Jay Jay Okocha

Former Everton star, Victor Anichebe has picked his best three African players ever to have played in the English Premier League ignoring Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha.
The former Premier League star’s choice include former Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu, Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend, Didier Drogba and another Ivorian, Yaya Toure.
Okocha, who single-handedly lifted Sam Allardyce’s Bolton Wanderers from relation and made a formidable team during his time at the club did not make Anichebe’s list.
Kanu laced his boots for three English sides, West Brom, Portsmouth and Arsenal, where he won the Premier League twice.
Anichebe, a former Nigeria International, said that Kanu brought a lot of African and Nigerian support to Arsenal during his playing day.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Anichebe said, “I came into the national team with Kanu, kind of star-struck when I saw him. The long journey he had in his career in the Premier League.
“He got a lot of Africans and Nigerians especially to support Arsenal not just for his performances on the pitch but his Foundation.H e’s one that we love in our country especially.
“He had an incredible touch for someone so tall, some people say he was lanky but he was deceptively strong as well and his general awareness for the game…for me it was a pleasure to train with him,” concluded Anichebe.
Nwankwo Kanu scored 54 goals in the Premier League and provided 29 assists in 273 appearances.
