Bayern Munich have announced that they have signed RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
The 22-year-old defender has agreed terms on a five-year deal with the German, European and world champions, despite Premier League interest.
Bayern will pay Leipzig a £38.5million transfer fee, which is his release clause.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool had been keeping tabs on Upamecano, with the hope of bringing him to England.
But Bayern sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, confirmed on Friday night: “I can confirm and we are very happy about that at FC Bayern.
“We had very good, intensive and professional discussions with Dayot and his agent Volker Struth for several months.”
