Manchester City snatched a narrow victory over Real Madrid in an entertaining Champions League semi-final clash at the Etihad on Tuesday.
Kelvin De Bruyne gave the hosts the lead less than two minutes into the game, before Gabriel Jesus extended City’s lead to 2-0 moments later.
Karim Benzema reduced the deficit to a goal for Real Madrid in the 33rd minute.
Phil Foden restored city’s two-goal lead after the break, heading in from Fernandinho’s cross.
But Vinícius Junior responded almost immediately as he reduced Madrid’s deficit back to a goal.
The drama continued as Bernardo Silva extended City’s lead to two goals in the 74th minutes, before Benzema again reduced the Spanish side’s deficit to a goal after scoring from the spot in the 82nd minute.
Real Madrid will now hosts Manchester City in the second and decisive leg of the semi-final tie on Wednesday, 4th May.
