UCL: Chelsea beat Lille 2-1, progress to quarter-finals

Defending champions, Chelsea have booked a place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League following a 1-2 (1-4 agg) victory over Lille OSC in the second leg of their round of 16 clash at Stade Pierre Mauroy stadium, Lille city, France, on Wednesday.

American midfielder, Christian Mate Pulisic gave the Blues the lead just before the first-half break.

Yilmaz brought the hosts back to the game after equalizing in the 38th minute via a penalty kick.

Defender, César Azpilicueta, scored Chelsea’s winner in the 71st minute to send the Thomas Tuchel’s side into their second consecutive Champions League quarter-finals.

Chelsea had earlier defeated Lille in the first leg of the round of 16 2-0 at Stanford Bridge.
