France Football, the organizers of the Ballon D’Or award, will announce two winners this year.
Last year’s event was cancelled because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, it will be held in-situ in December 2021.
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, won the last edition in 2019.
This year, two winners will be crowned in Paris, according to L’Equipe.
It is the first time this will be happening in the award’s history.
The 2019/20 season, however, was finished well after FF’s decision with Robert Lewandowski leading Bayern Munich to victories in Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League with 55 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Apparently, it’ll be Lewandowski who gets the 2020 edition of the award.
As for this year’s prize, Messi is believed to be the favourite to claim it after winning the 2021 Copa America, which is his first-ever major trophy with Argentina.
