Transfer: You’ll be 20 points worse – Tottenham warned against allowing Harry Kane go

Tottenham has been warned against allowing their main man, Harry Kane leave the club this summer

Tottenham have been warned they could be more than 20 points worse off without Harry Kane this season.

Former England national team boss Stuart Pearce gave the warning as the striker remains one of the biggest talking points of the summer transfer window.

Kane has entered the final 12 months of his Spurs contract and is refusing to sign a new deal.

Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to complete a deal for the 29-year-old, however the north London club are clearly reluctant to sell their star man at any price.

Pearce was a guest on talkSPORT Drive with Andy Goldstein and believes that Tottenham must hold out for a British record fee in excess of £105million if they’re to sell the star.

Asked if Tottenham’s season hinges on Harry Kane’s future, Pearce said: “It’ll go a long way.

“At the start of any season you look at your squad, go through it and see how many goals you’ve got in your squad and each goal equates to a point, near enough.

“If you look at the league table at the end of the season and a team has scored 70 goals then the chances are that they’re in and around 70 points.

“By losing Harry Kane you’re taking a lot of goals out of your team.”
