Matheus Cunha, a forward for Atletico Madrid, will be loaned to Wolves and will have a €50 million purchase obligation as part of the agreement.
According to GOAL, Wolves and Cunha have reached an agreement for Cunha to join Wolves on a temporary loan for the remainder of the 2022–23 Premier League season.
The 23-year-old has agreed to the deal’s personal terms, which also call for Wolves to purchase the Brazilian outright for £34 million ($40 million). To acquire Cunha, Wolves outbid their nearby rivals Aston Villa.
Cunha was acquired by Atletico for €30 million in 2021, but the forward has failed to make an impression in the capital of Spain and is not in manager Diego Simeone’s long-term plans. This season, he has made 17 appearances for Atletico, but he has yet to score.
On Boxing Day, Lopetegui’s team will play again in the Premier League against Everton.
