Italian Serie A side Atalanta will not accept a £31million offer from Manchester United for their striker Rasmus Hojlund.
However, the Serie A side will only listen to the Red Devils if the Premier League giants increase their offer to £39million.
Man United hope to wrap up the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea next week and are in talks with Inter Milan to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana.
With their spending power limited this summer, the Red Devils have been priced out of moves for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli valuing the attackers in excess of £100m.
However, Hojlund is another option under serious consideration, with the 20-year-old thought to be keen to link up with Man United manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Man United have seen their opening bid of £31million rejected by Atlanta.
The report added that Atalanta will cash in if they receive a bid in the region of £34million to £39million for the Denmark star.
Hojlund joined Atalanta from Sturm Graz just last summer for £15million.
