Saudi club Al-Ittihad have confirmed the signing of N’Golo Kante from Chelsea.
The Frenchman left Chelsea as a free agent this summer after his contract expired at the end of the season.
New manager, Mauricio Pochettino was said to have wanted him to stay at Stamford Bridge but negotiations between the France international and Blues over a renewal of his deal failed.
The Frenchman has now become the latest big name player to head to the Middle East, joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema when the season resumes.
Kante joined Leicester City from French club Caen in 2015 and sensationally helped the Foxes win the Premier League title at odds of 5000/1.
His performance with the Foxes saw him earn a move to Chelsea a year later where he won a second Premier League title as well as the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
He was crowned Premier League Player of the Season after just one campaign with Chelsea and in his second season was named the club’s Player of the Year.
Kante was also named Champions League Midfielder of the Season for 2020-21 as the Blues became European champions under previous boss Thomas Tuchel.
