Transfer: Mikel Arteta opens up on Folarin Balogun’s future at Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has commented on the future of Folarin Balogun.

Balogun starred on loan in France last season and is keen to play first-team football again next campaign.

But Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah to compete with at the Gunners, the striker’s future at the Emirates is in doubt.

However, he played a part in Arsenal’s opening friendly against Nurnberg and Arteta spoke about the 22-year-old post match.

He said: “Well this is what he has been doing and that’s why we gave him the minutes that he deserves to show what he can do.

“He’s just staying here with us at the moment and we will see what happens.”
