Another transfer window has closed in Cristiano Ronaldo’s face after reliable insider Fabrizio Romano revealed why a potential Ligue 1 suitor has no interest in signing him.
A year after making headlines with his sensational comeback, the veteran forward is trying to arrange a transfer away from Old Trafford. However, finding a potential suitor for Ronaldo has proven to be extremely difficult.
A move away appears to be the most likely result given his uncertainty about whether he can fit into Erik ten Hag’s system and his own uncertainty about United’s direction.
The goal is to help Ronaldo extend his illustrious career at a Champions League team.
Even so, a new path seemed to open up this week when Marseille were named as a surprise new suitor, adding to the list of potential suitors who are blocking his signing.
Jonathan Johnson, a specialist in French football, approved of their potential interest. In an interview with Sky Sports News, he explained the growing desire to see Ronaldo put on an OM shirt.
“Cristiano Ronaldo to Marseille is a story that has cropped up over the last few days,” said Johnson.
“It’s become something of a social media campaign to try to get Ronaldo to the Stade Velodrome. It would be a huge coup if they could pull it off but a very difficult move.”
