Transfer: Manchester United eye a Gakpo move from PSV

In recent weeks, several Premier League teams have been keeping an eye on PSV star Cody Gakpo.

Southampton and Manchester United both shown a lot of interest in the 23-year-old, but a transfer never happened.

The Red Devils could now make a comeback for the Netherlands international, but they would face stiff opposition.

More than half of the Premier League clubs were represented at the match between Ajax and PSV, with Gakpo being the star attraction, according to 90Min.

Cody Gakpo’s stats

In just 13 matches in the top level, the nine-cap international has contributed to 21 goals in the Eredivisie in 2022–23.

Gakpo would be sold for the proper price, according to prior reports, and the PSV board made assurances to the winger in the event that a top club expressed interest in signing him.

Given that the star from Eindhoven still has three years left on his deal, any payment would probably need to be in excess of £35 million.

Given the intense interest in signing Gakpo, there might be some moves made in January to try to sign the highly regarded teenager.
