Rasmus Hojlund is set to be unveiled as Manchester United’s newest signing ahead of kick-off in Saturday’s preseason friendly against Lens at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old completed his medical and inked his five-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months on Thursday after an agreement of £64 million, plus £8m in add ons was reached with Atalanta last week.
He represents a shift from the late-career forwards United have tended to sign in recent history.
United feel Hojlund, as a developing player, can evolve into a top-tier striker under Erik ten Hag’s coaching.
The Denmark international also fits the long-term nature of the manager’s project.
