Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted they need money from sales of players to reinvest.
Guardiola was responding to questions about the futures of Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva at the Etihad Stadium.
“The situations are completely different each year. When you win the Treble, it looks the job is done. Some players feel they want a new experience.
“I will not be the guy to say ‘no’. But there has to be an agreement with the club, and the club is not me.
“What is going to happen? I don’t know. But it’s not going to happen if both clubs don’t agree because they are massive players.
“When you lose these type of players you have to go to the market and these players don’t cost £10m, £20, £30m, £40m, £50m – it’s more expensive than that.
“We need that money as a club to reinvest in other players to make the team as strong as possible and defend the crowns we want,” Guardiola told reporters.
