Midfielder Kalvin Phillips of Leeds United has been advised by former Manchester United defender John O’Shea to sign with the Red Devils rather than their city rivals, Manchester City.
N’Golo Kante, Declan Rice, and other Chelsea midfielders were also given same advice to join Old Trafford.
With captain Fernandinho on the verge of leaving the Etihad Stadium, the England midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City.
Following the departures of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, and Jesse Lingard from the team this summer, the Red Devils are in desperate need of midfielders.
United and Barcelona are in talks about a potential £70 million deal for Dutch national Frenkie De Jong.
However, O’Shea, a former Uniter star, thinks Phillips should also be a target.
According to Metro, O’Shea reportedly told Paddy Power, “Despite links to Man City, Kalvin Phillips should think about the other side of Manchester!”
Declan Rice and even N’Golo Kanté are other options, O’Shea said.
“If United could get one of those three in, it’d be a big boost for everyone in the club.”
