Transfer: He’s joining new club soon – Morocco coach gives insignt on future of Man United, Barcelona target

Morocco coach reveals that Amrabat is joining new club soon

Moroccan national team boss Walid Regragui revealed that Barcelona and Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat would be joining a new club soon.

The 26-year-old Amrabat has emerged as a top transfer target for a host of big clubs in Europe after he helped Morocco to reach the semi-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

A right-footed defensive midfielder, Amrabat was rested for Morocco’s  Lions’ recent Africa Cup of Nations qualification games and was allowed to leave the national team camp before their 2-1 loss to South Africa.

Regragui told reporters the reason behind his decision to allow Amrabat leave the team’s camp, saying, according to Calciomercato, “I decided to let him leave the national team camp… he won’t play [against South Africa].

He’s already played a lot of games this year. I wouldn’t want to risk him getting injured, especially as he’ll be signing for a new club soon.”

According to SPORT, Barcelona are likely to face competition from Manchester United in their pursuit of Amrabat in the upcoming few weeks.
