Morientes picks best suited player to take Benzema’s place at Real Madrid
Former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes, has urged the club to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham as a replacement for Karim Benzema.
Benzema has left Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent after serving the club for fourteen years.
Morientes believes that England captain Kane can fill Benzema’s void at Madrid.
Benzema made 648 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid, scoring 354 goals and providing 165 assists.
He has now signed for Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad.
“I like Harry Kane, a lot of people are betting on him, he’d be a good player to take the nine spot [at Real Madrid] for instant performance,” Morientes told MARCA
“I don’t think about the economic aspect, the club will think about the economic side.”
Kane scored 32 goals and provided five assists in 49 appearances for Tottenham during the 2022/23 season.
