Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly offering him to a European team in a shock loan deal in an effort to get him out of Manchester United this week.
Ronaldo has appeared in Manchester United’s first four Premier League games. Under Erik ten Hag, there are indications that he might not start every important game.
In three games, the striker has played off the bench. And in the one game in which he completed the full 90 minutes, Brentford defeated Manchester United 4-0.
In the subsequent match, which ended in a 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool, Ronaldo played for just four minutes.
This is one of Ronaldo and Mendes’s arguments this week to leave Old Trafford.
Ronaldo’s top priority, if he leaves United, is to sign with Chelsea, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Now, another Italian publication, Il Mattino, has a shocking update (via the Daily Express). They assert that Mendes has extended a “free loan deal” to Napoli in exchange for Ronaldo.
Mendes is aware that Napoli cannot pay the star’s transfer fee, which may be in the neighbourhood of £20 million. As a result, the agent informed Napoli that they could sign him for the 2022–23 season without paying a dime.
The offer was made on Monday, but the Italian club has not yet responded.
