Transfer: Chelsea interested in Brighton midfielder, Moises Caicedo, other updates

According to reports, Chelsea is in a better position than Liverpool and Manchester United in the Premier League to sign defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

According to journalist Dean Jones, when the Seagulls do decide to part ways with their highly sought-after midfielder, the Blues will be the obvious favorites to sign the 21-year-old due to the player’s close relationship with former manager Graham Potter.

Jones told GMS: “I don’t think Brighton will sell him in January, but whenever the time comes, I expect Chelsea to be in the best position to sign him because of the relationship with Graham Potter.”

Other transfer updates

Romelu Lukaku

Newcastle United is preparing an ambitious move for Romelu Lukaku at the end of the season, claims Calciomercato.

But the report also states that any potential transfer for Lukaku is contingent on Newcastle earning a Champions League spot this year.

After failing to make an impression during his second stint at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian international is currently on a season-long loan back at Inter Milan.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Kalidou Koulibaly may return to the Serie A and join Inter, according to a La Repubblica report.

The Nerazzurri are well aware that Milan Skriniar might leave the team. Because of this, they want to be ready and bring in a world-class center-back.

Koulibaly joined Chelsea this past summer, but he hasn’t yet made an impact. The Senegalese might be persuaded to join an established league.

Andrey Santos

Brazilian wonderkid Andrey Santos has been signed by Chelsea, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Several of Europe’s top clubs were circling the young midfielder, but Chelsea ended up with him for €20 million.

The parties have reached an understanding regarding personal terms, and the Blues will work to develop the Brazilian player’s potential.

Hakim Ziyech

According to Calciomercato, Hakim Ziyech has been on AC Milan’s radar for a while, but the Moroccan’s high wage demands may cause the Rossoneri to lose interest.

Following their most recent meeting in October, Milan might be reluctant to agree to Ziyech’s request for a salary of €7-8 million per year at San Siro.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio acknowledged that Newcastle will speak with Chelsea about Ziyech’s transfer next month as they aim to finish in the top four of the Premier League standings.

David Fofana

Ivorian striker David Detro Fofana has been signed by Chelsea, claims transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. The deal is sealed, and both parties have signed an agreement. A medical exam is scheduled for today in London.
