Brighton are growing increasingly hopeful of keeping Moises Caicedo out of the clutches of Chelsea.
The Blues had a £70million bid for Caicedo rejected earlier this month and appear reluctant to meet Brighton owner Tony Bloom’s £100million valuation.
Seagulls boss Roberto De Zerbi has also been working hard behind the scenes to convince Caicedo to stay and play a part in Brighton’s first ever European campaign.
The south coast side qualified for the Europa League by finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.
If they cannot agree a deal for Caicedo, talkSPORT understands Chelsea could try and hijack Liverpool’s move for Romeo Lavia.
