Transfer: Challenge for Man United as Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr make eye-watering offer to sign Andre Onana

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana could snub Man United as Al-Nassr come with a huge offer

Cristiano Ronaldo’s clubside Al-Nassr have challenged Manchester United’s pursuit of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana with a ‘lucrative bid’ for the goalkeeper.

Inter Milan would allow the Cameroonian to go for at least £43m and may be hoping for even more if a bidding war breaks out for his signature.

Chelsea also hold an interest in the 27-year-old as they consider a move for a new goalkeeper after Edouard Mendy’s exit and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s struggles at the club.

Onana is a key target for Manchester United but his price tag is putting them off and interest from Saudi Arabia will not help their cause.

CBS Sports report that a ‘lucrative bid’ has come in for the stopper from Al-Nassr as they look to add more big names to the Saudi Pro League.

The offer from Al-Nassr would also be for astronomical wages for the player, but it may be that he is keen to stay in Europe and compete in the Champions League after reaching the final with Inter last season.

The bid from Al-Nassr will encourage Manchester United to make a substantial offer of their own or move on to other targets, with their goalkeeper position in an unusual state of flux.

David De Gea’s contract has come to an end but negotiations are reportedly ongoing and the Spaniard may still stay at Old Trafford despite an agreement on a new deal has proved very difficult to come by.

Other options for Manchester United to explore include Brentford’s David Raya, Porto’s Diogo Costa and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp.
