Joao Palhinha’s proposed move from Fulham to Bayern Munich has fallen through, despite both clubs agreeing a transfer fee.
The Bundesliga champion submitted an initial offer of £47milliion, though this was subsequently rejected by the London club – who priced him at £90m initially.
The collapsed as the Premier League club were unable to find a replacement in time.
This was not helped by the German window closing earlier than the English one.
Earlier in the window, Fulham made enquiries into Manchester United’s Scott McTominay as a replacement, though the deal has now fallen through.
The Cottagers wanted £70m for the Portuguese midfielder, after rejected an initial £47m bid from the German giants.
