Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social media to denounce “lies” about his future at Manchester United.
After being given permission to miss United’s preseason tour for “personal reasons,” Ronaldo has asked to leave Old Trafford this summer, and he reiterated that desire upon his return to the club earlier this week.
The 37-year-old blasted the “lies” surrounding his future in response to an Instagram post that claimed Sir Alex Ferguson participated in the most recent meeting and prevented him from leaving Old Trafford.
According to sources who confirmed it to 90min, the legendary former manager was not present in recent meetings involving Ronaldo.
“Impossible not to talk about me for one day,” he wrote. “Otherwise the press makes no money.
“You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going like that and one day you’ll get some news right.”
